Hello everyone! I figured I should make an announcement post regarding some changes and new implementations to our Vanilla server. Read below to find out what's new!
Warning: Thread consists of a lot of rambling.
Player Shops Update
Unfortunately, about a week or two ago we decided to not have player shops this map. This decision was primarily made because revamping the playershop was a lot of work and due to UR3EKA and I not being able to do the work we were unable to complete it in a reasonable amount of time. (I'll admit, we were somewhat lazy). We were planning on changing it up a little bit, which required over 500 commands and the creation of 72 worldguard regions. So, needless to say, we didn't have it ready and eventually just decided to scrap the idea for this map. As such, we won't be doing Player Shops this map.
Don't worry though, we've started discussing with town mayors and we want to try something new. Town mayors have the ability to create a designated "shop area" of their choosing - and organize it the way that they want to organize it as well. So, each town can have it's own shop area that can either be for town members to sell in that area, the town mayors to sell in that area, or anyone can set up a shop there in general. Remember, automated Chest Shops are in this map, so you can set up a Chest Shop where-ever you'd like. If you don't know how to do this, ask a staff member for help in-game. Now, back on topic. As for the designated shop areas, I am willing to make a warp to those shop areas for town mayors. So if you're a Mayor, and you implement a shop area, ask The_Loyal_One in a /ticket, in-game, or on Discord for a /warp to that location.
In addition to the designated shop area warps for Towns, we're also making a few small changes to warps. These will be listed below.
1.) Removal of /warp nexus - We still haven't filled the portals there yet, and we're about a month into the map. I don't really plan on adding portals there any time soon, and I don't know if it'll be used heavily. So I'll remove it to reduce one thing we need to "maintain" and focus on the quality of towns instead.
2.) Architecture Warps - If you're doing a large server build, such as something that is as massive as a server spawn, you can get a warp to it for free. Simply create a /ticket or message The_Loyal_One on Discord and see if you are able to get a warp. The build must be large-scale, and the build must be very visually appealing and better then an average build.
3.) As mentioned above, shop warps for shops located in Towns.
Moving Major Builds to "New Maps"
I've noticed recently some players are not interested in doing large scale builds in the server in fear of them being lost whenever a map reset occurs. Now, since I've uttered the words "map" and "reset" in the same sentence, no, there is not a map reset any time soon. So please don't worry or ask about it. Anyways, back on topic - since people are worried about doing large scale builds, I will offer anyone who makes a large scale build three options:
1.) Get a WorldEdit schematic sent to you. So, if you build something large scale in North-Craft, you can get The_Loyal_One to create a WorldEdit schematic and have it sent to you so you can paste your build into a server you own or in single player. I won't teach you how to paste a schematic in, it's up to you to know how to do that.
2.) Any major builds that have a Architecture warp to them I can copy to a new map free of charge. So, if you get an architecture warp, you can have your build copied over to a new map with no issues.
3.) This may or may not happen. I will post a thread around the end of the current map asking people to request builds being pasted over into new maps. If your build is high quality and looks like it took days to build, we may copy it over to a new map for you, free of charge.
Any builds that are copied over to new maps must not have chests, rare blocks, or anything of that nature that will give you a significant advantage in a new map. If you're build is made out of rare blocks, they will be set to another block before pasting it into a new map.
New Command / Plugins (Sorta)
The /craftbook command has been removed and replaced with /uniqueplugins. You can use that command to direct you to an informational post regarding unique plugins and hidden features on our server. These currently consist of but are not limited too: Elevators, Bridges, Sign Edit, GraviTree, TicTacToe, Head Drops. I've also updated the post so that it explains some of the new plugins that were added recently to the server. GraviTree, TicTacToe, Automatic Inventory.
Minecraft 1.9.4 has been released and our server has updated. You are required to use Minecraft 1.9.4 in order to join our vanilla servers. As of this posting, the only plugin that needed to be disabled as result of the update is Dynmap (the Live Map) due to lag issues. The Live Map will be up and running again once the plugin updates to fix this issue.
Status Update: Skyblock
Quick status update regarding our Skyblock server. Yes, if you didn't know, we are launching our Skyblock Server very soon. Klaine and I have been heavily at work on this server and I'm glad to say it is almost ready for release. A few more plugins need to be completed, spawn signs need to be done, and donator ranks need to be done. However, I'm sad to say that I'm currently not committing to a release date - release will be soon and the server will be released whenever it is ready. All I'm going to say is it will be definitely before May 20th.
Status Update: Creative Server
Some of you may have heard some mutterings of a creative server being created soon, and I announced this once I removed creative from donators on Vanilla. I'm currently unsure if we are going to do this. Basically, we may or may not have a creative server at some point in the future.
Status Update: Events & UHC Server
At some point I am planning on doing events & UHC again. Sadly, I won't begin working on this until after Skyblock is completely up and running. We will require a new UHC plugin for Minecraft 1.9 and most are not stable as of this current moment. Waiting a few more weeks will be good so the plugins get updated and are functioning bug-free on Minecraft 1.9.
Status Update: Hub Server
This will almost definitely happen soon. I'd really like to create a Hub Server so that we can allow our Vanilla Server to expand as well as to have a global vanilla whitelist. Obviousily, this will require a LOT of time and work to fully implement, but I think it will be worth it. To allow for expansion of North-Craft, I will be investing some time late May / early June to get this completed. I will also get UR3EKA, our primary builder, to start working on building a Hub. Again, I'm relatively sure this will happen but I am in no way guaranteeing it.
Vanilla Maintenance & General Downtime
There may be increased downtime across our Vanilla server(s) over the next few weeks. I'll be adding plugins for cross-server chat support for Skyblock/Survival and this will require many restarts for testing. With the addition of new plugins, Skyblock Launch, Minecraft 1.9.4, and a possible hub server restarts / downtime will be more than likely some nights. Consider anywhere from 1-6 AM EST "Possible Unscheduled Restart / Downtime Time".
Thanks for reading and thank you for listening to me ramble on. I hope you all like what was discussed in this thread and are excited for the future!
